I'm so so excited to finally share Katie's Bridal Session! Katie is one of the sweetest, most sincere and genuine brides I've ever had the pleasure of working with. She is so easy going yet organized, considerate, and always so appreciative! A dream bride! Katie and Matt tied the knot yesterday in Enid, OK at First United Methodist Church and we toasted and danced the night away at Oakwood Country Club and the weather was impeccable. I'm so happy for Mr. and Mrs. Gras and can't wait to share more with you from their beautiful wedding day! Enjoy! :)
When I was eight years old, I was pretty sure I could do and be anything if I believed strongly enough. I was a daddy's girl who loved being outside and loved camping with my gal pals and their dads in my local daddy-daughter "Indian Princess" group. We would sleep in creaky bunks in cold cabins, roast marshmallows off nearby dead tree limbs, and tell ghost stories late into the darkness around the smoky campfire. Of course at that time I was young and naive. But looking back, sometimes I wish I could rewind and be that eight year old girl again. I spent quality time with those friends, unplugged, face to face, making memories. Our noses weren't buried in a smart phone returning a text message, email or sending a SnapChat. We didn't know what a "selfie" was and our perception of life wasn't based on "likes" or "shares". Life was simpler. Life was quiet.
I had the great honor to collaborate with some of my favorite creatives in the industry recently. My dear friend, Melissa Click, with Melissa Click Photography with impeccable style and taste contacted me about an idea she had. Her goal was to tell a story about relationships. "It would be a quiet story of nurturing friendships and nourishing relationships while enjoying tranquil, quality time in the great outdoors. These two couples have unplugged, escaped the hustle and bustle of every day life and embarked on a modern camping trip. By slowing the pace, they embrace the rejuvenating qualities of fresh air and good company." To see a behind the scenes look of Melissa and all the other talented vendors in action click here.
This storyline carried over into how I felt after capturing this shoot. I get to share my creativity on a daily basis in my job. But, to be able to capture something fresh, in good company with other creatives, I felt so rejuvenated and alive. That is what life is about. Treasuring relationships, building community. Capturing what excites you and what tells a story. We are all designed to share our gifts and talents. The gifts of the creatives I had the opportunity to work with is mind blowing. I was only a very small piece of this story.

Califoooorniaaaa HERE I COME!!! Oh man friends, this engagement session was a a dream! A little back story here...so Katie is the sweetest bride. Seriously, I can't say it enough. When I met with her and her mom for the first time during her initial wedding consult she said "I know 100% that we want you as our wedding photographer, so what dates do you have available and we'll work our wedding date around your availability." Umm...say that again!? What a dream! I've never had a client literally set their wedding date around my availability. Talk about an honor and a privilege! So as we continued talking, Katie mentioned that her fiance, Matt, was currently stationed over seas in England and that she wasn't sure they would be able to get engagement pictures done, let alone see each until the week of their wedding, but that they were hoping to plan a trip together to California in January, if Matt could get leave. She then asked if I'd be open to flying to California to shoot their engagement session there!! WHAT?! PINCH ME! YES YES YES!!!
So we jetted out of cold, dreary Oklahoma and onward to sunny California! The morning of their engagement session was POURING!!! I mean really raining. It was all over the news how much rain they were getting and how "Great" it was. Ummm..not for us!! So I prayed and prayed for mercy and sun for their engagement session and that afternoon the rain cleared, the heavens parted, and well you get the idea! haha We were able to hit up some of the prettiest spots around the Long Beach, CA area and finished up at Cabrillo Beach just as the fog and mist was settling back in.
I am so thankful for Katie and Matt and the Shewey family to invite me to capture this exciting journey. I can't wait to capture your wedding in just a few short days!!
Enjoy their California engagement session!
Where do I even begin with Marissa and Lakin? Marissa is genuine and gorgeous inside and out. I love that Lakin is my favorite kind of "go with the flow" type groom. Marissa and Lakin's engagement session was a WINDY one! But where in Oklahoma isn't windy?? We made the peaceful drive to Marissa's family ranch near the Watonga, OK area. Their land was literally jaw dropping. From the moment we drove up to the ranch I was so giddy and couldn't wait to get them both in front of my lens. Marissa's parents were beyond sweet and showed us around the over 700 acres of land and took us to all the hidden gems. Marissa's sister, Meggan, is a close friend of mine and an uber talented photographer, so it was a HUGE compliment that Marissa chose ME to capture their engagement session and their wedding day. I could go on and on about the way Lakin looks at Marissa and how their chemistry in front of the camera was so natural, but I think you'll see that for yourself in the images below! Enjoy!
Marissa and Lakin, thank you for choosing me to document such a joyous occasion and trusting me to be your photographer. I can't wait to shoot your wedding in just a few short weeks!!
Jessie and Drew's wedding at Jessie's family's home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma was one I won't soon forget. Every aspect was planned perfectly and no detail was left out. When I first spoke with Jessie, she indicated she had stumbled upon my work through a friend on Facebook. (Social media marketing works, friends! :) ) We set a date to chat and I couldn't wait to hear all about her wedding planning.
Jessie and Drew define fun-loving, easy going, adventurous couples in love and this is everything I hope for when I photograph couples. I wish for laughter, and joy, engagement sessions outdoors, and down-to-earth brides with big hearts for the people in their lives. This is Jessie and Drew to a T!
We were outstandingly lucky to have a beautiful Spring engagement session at Jessie's family's home and the surrounding area where in just a few short months they would tie the knot. You can find their engagement session here.
Jessie and Drew's wedding day started in "The Castle" just off the beaten path from Jessie's parent's home where hair and make-up was done. Jessie was surrounded with so much love from her girls, her mother and mother-in-law to be. As Jessie got in her wedding dress, a few bridesmaids shed tears of joy admiring her beauty. She was jaw-dropping and her positivity was more radiant than ever. Jessie has an unbelievable heart for serving and loving others and became even more apparent when she was surrounded by her bridesmaids.
Drew and his groomsmen were some of the most polite groomsmen I've ever had the opportunity of working with. They were surrounded with laughter and fun all day and I can't imagine a more perfect wedding day.
The ceremony was nestled in a large group of some of the tallest trees I've ever seen. The whole ambiance was breathtaking and felt like a fairytale. After the couple said "I Do" the wedding party, family and guests danced the night away.
All in all, it was truly a perfect day and the threat of rain held off until literally the last minute of the reception! Together, Jessie and Drew completely compliment one another. They are, indeed, a perfect match, and I am still so full of joy when I get to think back on their wedding day and feel so honored I was able to document their love.
Jessie and Drew, I am beyond happy that I got to be there to witness the beginning of your next big adventure. Thank you a million times over for being so incredible. I hope this new adventure together gets better each and every day. Your joy is contagious and I absolutely loved being surrounded by it all on your wedding day. Cheers to love and happiness!
I first met Ashley and Ryan at a coffee shop in town to get to know them better and hear all about their wedding planning. I was so impressed with how involved Ryan was in all the planning. Many times when planning a wedding, grooms can quickly learn phrases like "Sure babe, whatever you want" and "Yes dear, those colors look great," but Ryan happily provided input and interest in the whole wedding planning process.
Ashley and Ryan have such a genuine, easy-going way about them that makes them so easy to love and get to know. It makes sense that they would have amazing friends too. The weather was gorgeous for their wedding day, so we made a little trek out past the 81 Ranch property to get bridal party pictures and they happily made that trek, gold sequin dresses, heels and all!
It's such an honor to capture wedding days like theirs. They had their closest friends and family supporting them and loving them on the best day of their lives. The love was tangible throughout the day. Thank you so much Ashley and Ryan for choosing me to capturing your wedding day. I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness.

When your best friend asks you to capture their five year anniversary session at Spain Ranch, you say "ABSOLUTELY!"
Christina and I often times share the same brain with our styling and vision. When we began planning their shoot, we wanted to bring in some very sentimental pieces as well as keep it simple and genuine. I have to say this anniversary session is on the top of my list as one of my favorite sessions to plan, style, and shoot. And with a venue like Spain Ranch, and a gorgeous couple like Christina and Brock, I was in heaven.
Christina's adorable ivory tulle skirt was part of her original wedding dress. That dress has been through a trash the dress session...and one year session. Can you believe it still looks as gorgeous as ever?! Christina is a floral creative at heart and fashioned her simple eucalyptus bouquet herself! Christina and Brock also wanted to incorporate the letters they wrote each other on their wedding day.
The vintage rentals from Jo & June really set the tone for the shoot. We hand picked the neutral couch, kilim pillows, rug, horn, cement candle sticks and brass bowl for their fun ice cream sandwiches. Huge thanks to Jo & June! We always love working with you!
Happy 5 Year Anniversary Tina and Brock!

Jessie + Drew's wedding yesterday was absolutely perfect!! Held out at her parent's private residence, it was nothing short of a dream.
I adore Jessie's creative eye and impeccable style. It made working with her throughout the wedding planning process a breeze and so fun. I loved shooting her bridals at the beautiful Tulsa Garden Center. Isn't she stunning?!
Thank you so much for choosing me to capture this exciting time in your lives!
I love how thoughtful Jessie is. When she was just a little girl, around 4 years old, she dressed up in a wedding dress and had her picture taken just for fun. Jessie wanted to incorporate this sweet sentimental piece into her bridal session as a surprise to her parents! Those are the last few images from her session.
I can't wait to share some of Jessie's bridal portraits with you!
The emotions of becoming a mother are overwhelmingly raw and beautiful. From fertility triumphs to perfectly planning a first birthday and from reading a positive pregnancy test to watching your body transform, motherhood changes you. "The Chosen Series" allows me to capture your new journey with beautiful, timeless photographs!
I'm so excited to finally announce the third dress of The Chosen Series! You can find the other dresses here and here. Check them out! You don't want to miss those as well! I am continuing to add to my featured collection and will be posting as I add.
This beautiful gown is the MIA dress. The name "Mia" has Latin and Italian roots meaning "wished for child" and "mine." So many women are wishing, hoping, and praying to someday become mothers. From fertility triumphs to finally being able to call a child "mine," I want to celebrate with you and capture each precious moment.
I just love the soft lace overlay of this dress. The flattering, flowy sleeves gives this dress a whimsical, soft feel. The classic ivory color leaves a timeless impression. The fabric of the Mia dress is former fitting to show off your baby bump, while still offering a flattering silhouette.
I LOVED incorporating Stephanie's gorgeous daughters into this shoot. What a joy it was to play, run and giggle with these beautiful babes before they become big sisters to their new brother coming soon!
Motherhood: You recognize strengths that you weren’t sure existed. You learn that your fears are different than they once were. And above all, you experience the purest love – an indescribable love.
This dress I call the BRIDGET. The name "Bridget" is an Irish female name derived from the noun "brígh" which means strength, power, and virtue. As a mother, we try to be strong and powerful for our children and the rest of our family. We often amaze ourselves and others with the amount of pressure our souls and our bodies can handle.
When I became a mother, the things I once feared had different meaning now. But the incredible love a mother has for her child can crush all fears and weakness and bring about the most beautiful, indescribable strength.
This BRIDGET dress is available in the Hazel and Haze Maternity Closet with the rest of the gorgeous collection of maternity gowns that fit every style and body type. This soft, jersey knit maternity gown allows for flawless movement and the off the shoulder neckline is so flattering!
Join me in my newest journey as I help document this new journey of yours. I can't wait to meet you and your babe!
