With Christmas just days away, I thought it was fitting to share just a bit of amazingness from Brett Birdsong's (Un)Wedding Workshop he put on back on November 16th. WITH SNOW!
It's been a little hectic around here with moving to a new city, unpacking, Christmas shopping, finishing up editing Christmas and family sessions and creating my new and improved office space (more to come on that, so stay tuned!)
Now, this is the story all about how my life got flip-turned upside down and I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, I'll tell you how I became a ....part of the Brett Birdsong (Un)Wedding Workshop.
Whoa...Prince of Bel-Air lyrics just came out of nowhere (must be all the holiday craziness)...
Ok, but now really. I have loved and followed Brett's work for a year or so now. He is uber talented and just love his sarcasm, grammar corrections, and all his hilarity, but in all seriousness my favorite thing about Brett is his motto to "Shoot What Matters".
Since his workshop, I continually remind myself that I get the opportunity to be a part of my client's lives in some of the most joyous occasions and that truly is a treasured gift. In relation to weddings, it's not about unrealistic wedding blogs, or trying to get published.
It's about my clients. Period.
If my clients are happy and are overjoyed to see their images, then that's a success in my book.
Brett's workshop was a day full of recreating a wedding from start to finish. It was a pleasure to meet so many talented photographers. Brett walked all the attendees through his successes and shared his honest failures. I am forever thankful for this opportunity to learn from one of the best.
Special thanks to Ashlee Bivins and Heather Valentine from Primp Hair and Make Up Studio, LionsRoad Studios for DJ, Skelly Lodge for the beautiful venue, and Mom and Me Events for flowers and styling.
Enjoy this snow-filled faux wedding!
