{Feature Friday} - Felt Bird

When I walked into The Felt Bird, I was smitten with the smell of their Capri Blue Volcano candle and greeted by the scruffy shop dog, Dexter. I had the pleasure of getting to know Riley & Stela, the lifestyle boutique owners of The Felt Bird, and loved learning the history behind it. Riley & Stela are a husband and wife team. They specialize in unique gifts, clothes, handmade items and accessories.

From 2007-2010, Stela owned Stela Bird where she sold her handmade felt owls and birds.  Through that business, she and Riley met multiple handmade artists and began collaborating together with these artists to launch The Felt Bird store.  They targeted individuals that weren't "too crafty" to achieve their desired aesthetic.

The Felt Bird opened its doors in 2009, and has been going strong ever since! Their positive store vibe as well as Stela & Riley's welcoming personalities continue to make The Felt Bird a highly sought after and successful business in downtown Enid, OK.

When asked the hardest thing about starting their own business, they happily responded with "We had a year of good challenges."

Did you know that The Felt Bird is the exclusive TOMS shoes retailer for NW Oklahoma? Some of the store's top selling items include TOMS shoes, Capri Blue candles, Enid graphic tees designed by Riley, Bombs Away Thunder basketball shirts, and "Better Life" house cleaning products, which are free of harsh chemicals.

The Felt Bird shares its space with Scribner's Beads and Art Gallery. Beginning in the Spring, the art gallery will be open for viewing on select dates for Enid's First Fridays, beginning on April 3, 2015.
